The combination of two Orifice Pipe Flanges is called an orifice flange union. To curb turbulence concerns, Orifice flanges are deployed in the straight run of a pipe. A typical Raised Face Orifice Flange consists of pairs of pressure tapings, which are placed opposite to one another. To calculate the pressure difference in the orifice, two pressure tap-holes are placed in each of these flanges. One must ensure that the pressure taps are at the same elevation while installing an orifice flange.
